The chats are overflowing with opinions and speculation. Rather than getting drawn into a whirlpool of negativity - let’s source credible information. After that? It’s time to make some decisions.
Credible sources
To keep up with the swirl of political agendas, appeals, and potential outcomes, visit Rob Hahn’s substack. He’s got that covered. To keep a positive outlook on things, look at Matthew Ferrara’s stack. Reading one may cause generalized anxiety disorder, while the other reminds you that the industry will be just fine. They pair as nicely as wine and cheese. I highly recommend both (…plus the wine and cheese.)
Here, we’re about what’s in your control. You.
For today, please do two things.
Explain this court case to someone. If you can’t, get educated enough so you can. Seriously - tell your pet if you have to. Verbalize it.
Have two answers: one short, one long. The short answer should be simple enough to explain in passing at the grocery store. The longer answer should explain two things: how your business operates and how that benefits your clients.
If you struggle with the “how,” that’s ok. Stay with it. There’s clarity buried in the struggle to articulate why you do what you do and how that differs from other agents.
As the noise ramps up, I hope you’ll avoid the temptation to outsource, defer, or delay essential decisions. Nobody has more information about your business than you.
These are your decisions to make - so make them.
Let’s get to work.
Great advice! This is not all doom and gloom.
