This time of year, many agents reinvent rather than reflect.
I used to do that, too.
I’d get excited about planning quarterly parties, using the next trend that was sure to change the industry, or re-engineer my entire database with a CRM that caused more headaches than help (…shoutout to my incredible assistant who’s ridden alongside me for years now…sorry for causing us both a few migraines along the way.)
The reality of that behavior? I wasn’t thinking of my clients at all.
Those aspirational activities are all about generating and closing more deals.
That sort of thinking was about me and what I needed versus what my clients needed.
Your future clients (and mine) are scanning the universe looking for a realtor who solves their “internal” or unspoken problems. Not a party.
That’s a shame because we both know we can throw some great parties. It’s also a challenge because we both know we can’t be all things to all people.
Which problems do you solve? Ah - that’s where the work is.
That’s where reflection (holding up a mirror and positively acknowledging the real you) can be a wildly powerful and profitable business planning tool.
After all, when the clock strikes midnight and the calendar turns, you’ll still be working with the same raw material.
You don’t need a new planner, a new logo, or a new you.
Just leverage what’s true about you.
Very excited to bring more resources to this stack in 2024. Big plans in store! Thanks for reading and please share this with other agents who may find it useful. HNY!
