We're bombarded with prescriptive advice about what we "should" be doing. Success isn't about doing everything. It's about aligning your marketing with who you truly are and demonstrating what you genuinely offer your clients (and we should have a better answer than “I help you buy and sell homes.”) We should have an answer that resonates with the public.

What we've Learned About Marketing That Actually Works

  • You need both high-trust activities (like meaningful client relationships) and strategic immediacy plays (I use my social media as my "living resume")

  • Stop following generic marketing prescriptions - your unique value proposition should drive every marketing decision you make

  • The key to sustainability? Creating emotional connections that turn your clients into advocates. That's worth more than any paid advertising

Here's What We Want You to Do

  • Get crystal clear about your strengths and authentic voice - if you can't articulate your value, your marketing won't either

  • Create that 12-month marketing plan, but make it reflect YOU and your genuine approach to serving clients

  • Show your expertise through real stories and examples, not just promotional fluff

  • Look back at your past marketing - does it truly show what it's like to be in your care?

You don’t have to do the “prescribed” marketing plans most are taught - but you do have to leverage your marketing plan. Your marketing should give people a genuine preview of what it's like to work with you. That's how you build trust that lasts.

We’ve seen too many agents burn out trying to follow every marketing trend (and we don’t want that to be you). Instead, focus on what really matters: showing up authentically and consistently for the people we serve. That's not just good marketing - it's good business.
